In a bid to add social “sharing” multi-screen, anytime, web viewing functionality to its IPTV and OTT solutions, Amino Communications is embed Vidiactive’s VideoBee service into its Freedom hybrid media centre.
VideoBeeis designed provides a single, centralised platform for users to manage, watch and share content across multiple screens and devices from one central place.
Freedom media centres are available as a fully-featured hybrid/OTT device or as a “companion” media centre designed to complement existing cable and satellite set-top boxes. Amino believes that by embedding the VideoBee client into the Freedom platform, users will be able to watch web videos found on any device—such as smartphones, tablets, laptops—on their TV screen as a full screen experiences.
A PlaySpot facility also allows users to continue to watch a video from a paused point on a different device, in a different room or on a different screen throughout the connected home.
