TV Everywhere in more places, to more devices leads to new MobiTV datacentre

Live and on-demand TV Everywhere delivery firm MobiTV has announced the deployment of a new datacentre to distribute increasing amounts of multiscreen video content delivery.
MobiTV says that the centre will deploy the latest in secure tiered storage and a 100% virtualised processing environment, capable of ingesting and processing petabytes of data and supporting the video platform which uses its own digital rights management (DRM).
Such sercuity is deemed as crucial given that a fundamental element in the MobiTV business model is t o ensure the delivery of content from stdudios such as Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Paramount Pictures Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Film, Universal City Studios and Warner Bros. Entertainment.
“To manage and prepare the high-quality source files for our partners we need an infrastructure capable of reliably and securely ingesting the file, encoding it and storing it for downloading or streaming,” explained MobiTV CEO Charlie Nooney. “The extension of the datacentre, together with our policy-based DRM and MPAA’s examination, showcases MobiTV’s capabilities to carry out this process in a secure environment for service providers.”
