IPTV and over the top (OTT)  solutions provider Amino Communications is to use the IP&TV World Forum 2012 to give a European debut to its new Amino Freedom Live media gateway, said to be the first hybrid/OTT media gateway to be powered by the new Intel Atom Processor CE 5300 SoC.

The new device combines dual core processing power with a range of new enhanced transcoding and encoding capabilities with multi-screen distribution to deliver content to TVs, smartphones and tablets around the home.

Freedom Live can accept content from a range of sources, including the open Internet, and is formatted into a high quality “televisual” experience for TV, tablets and smartphones. It also delivers 3D gaming, user generated content plus on-demand, traditional broadcast and, said to be uniquely, high definition video calling.

Amino CEO Donald McGarva said, “The new Freedom media gateway is a great example of [innovation, quality and partnership] working this and we look forward to showing its powerful multiscreen capabilities our IPTV product range has evolved with our partners to deliver seamless OTT functionality.”
